RECTOR'S WELCOME

Whether you are visiting from across the globe or down the street, welcome to St. Bede’s Episcopal Church in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, located on Los Angeles’ Westside.

The congregation of St. Bede’s is an inclusive, welcoming, diverse, and family-centered Christian community that seeks to share God’s love and the Good News of Jesus Christ and serve the people of Los Angeles’ Westside.

We are committed to living out our baptismal identity by:

  • Proclaiming by word and example the Good News of God in Christ.

  • Seeking and serving Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves.

  • Striving for justice and peace among all people, and respecting the dignity of every human being, including our sisters and brothers in the LGBTQ community.

We invite you to worship with us, grow with us, serve with us, and connect with us. St. Bede’s is a safe and welcoming faith community where you can belong before you believe.

As a Christian community of faith in the Episcopal tradition, we believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As constituent members of the Anglican Communion in the United States, we are descendants of and partners with the Church of England and the Scottish Episcopal Church, and are part of the third largest group of Christians globally.

We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world. We are the Episcopal branch of Jesus’ movement in this world.

We have a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God, and we invite our members to share their gifts with the congregation and the communities we serve. We believe race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, and socioeconomic status to be examples of what constitutes diversity in our community of faith.

God loves you – no exceptions!
