Bible & Breakfast

Join us in the parish hall for prayer, fellowship, and a warm potluck breakfast as we gather to study Scripture together. Using the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version) as our primary text, we explore the Bible through thoughtful discussion, historical context, and a variety of commentaries and translations that deepen our understanding of the Gospel message. On the first Tuesday of each month, we practice Lectio Divina, a contemplative approach to Scripture that invites prayerful reflection on how God’s Word is speaking personally to each of us.

Sisters of Bede Meeting

The monthly gatherings are loosely structured around prayer, a potluck meal, and engaging discussions on spiritual topics. All who identify as women of the parish are invited to join us for great food, fun, and fellowship. As a major fundraising arm of St. Bede's, the SOB raises thousands of dollars for local community groups through social Venues.

WisdomLiteratureImage2.jpg

“Wisdom Literature” (from Yale Bible Study). Join us Wednesday evenings after the 7pm midweek service. We meet in person and via Zoom. The biblical books generally categorized as wisdom literature include Proverbs, Ecclesiastes (Qoheleth) and Job. These books are the closest to philosophy that the Hebrew Bible offers: they explore the question of how much of the world we can know, and how we can know it; how to live a good life; and why bad things happen to good people (and vice versa). Though they belong to a common conversation, each book has a unique form and a unique perspective: these issues have been at the forefront of human inquiry for over two thousand years. In this study, we will explore each of these books through video and short readings.

The Vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances. All are welcome to join in on the meeting.
