Adult Forum
Adult forum is our weekly gathering where curious minds come together to explore books, films and other media that inspire spiritual growth and reflection. Come as you are-- all questions, doubts and 'aha moments' are welcome as we learn from each other.

Meetings Wednesdays at 8pm. In person and on Zoom.
At Bible and Breakfast, we go into a deep dive on the upcoming week’s scriptural readings using the Reference “A Lector’s Guide & Commentary to the Revised Common Lectionary” by J. Ted Blakley. The discussion is interactive, allowing you to ask, “What does that passage really mean?”

We are currently holding these discussions in hybrid mode.
Coffee and pot-luck breakfast is available, starting at about 9:00 AM. The Discussion and Zoom video will begin at 9:30 AM.

Sacred Resistance
Sacred Resistance is the advocacy branch of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, established after the 2016 decision to become a Sanctuary Diocese. Guided by our baptismal covenant, we commit to resisting systemic oppression, including racism, sexism, nativism, homophobia, transphobia, anti-Semitism, and Islamophobia.
Sisters of Bede
The Sisters of Bede is the women's+ evening fellowship of the church, open to all who identify as women+ of the parish. The monthly potluck dinner meetings are held in Luther Hall at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of most months. The meetings are loosely structured. We pray together, enjoy a potluck meal, and have spiritual discussions. All women of the parish are invited to come join us for great food, fun, and fellowship!

St. John's Guild
St. John’s Guild is comprised of members and friends of St. Bede’s Church. The group meets the second Wednesday of the month at Luther Hall or at the home of members. We have a noon potluck followed by a business meeting and program of interest to the members. The group is one of the fund-raising arms of the church.
Worship Ministries
St. Bede's Episcopal Church offers various volunteer ministries that support our Sunday and weekday worship services. The Sacristans Guild prepares the altar and maintains liturgical items, while Vergers assist clergy and lead processions during services. Lay ministers including Lectors read scripture, Eucharistic Ministers help distribute communion, Greeters and Ushers provide hospitality, and Acolytes assist with ceremonial duties and represent the congregation at the altar.

The Holy Rollers
The Holy Rollers lovingly prepare the sacred bread that becomes the Body of Christ at our Eucharistic Celebrations. This dedicated team meets regularly to bake fresh communion bread with reverence and care, creating an essential element of our worship while building community through shared service. Join this hands-on group where flour and faith come together in holy purpose.
Music Ministry
At St. Bede's, music is a core element of our worship and fellowship together. Our 10AM Eucharist features musical performances by our organist and a select group of soloists. We explore the hymnal and branch out into some other wonderful resources too.
Our music is worship and just as all are welcome at the altar, all are welcome to make a joyful noise.

Pastoral Care Team
The Pastoral Care Team has served St. Bede's since July 2013, working with clergy to support parish members in need through prayers, phone calls, visits, transportation, meals, and other assistance.
Daughters of the King
The Daughters of the King is an order of women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, and churches in communion with it, who have taken a lifetime vow to live by a spiritual discipline of prayer, service, and evangelism.

Neighborhood Youth Association
St. Bede's was thrilled to welcome NYA to our campus as their permanent home in January 2025. NYA’s educational enhancement program, PERSONAL BEST, is designed to help each child become the best that he or she can be. They work intensively with youth from low-income families in Venice and Mar Vista. Through a comprehensive set of components, PERSONAL BEST serves children and youth from ages five through eighteen, and offers classes and activities for parents.
Mission Committee
This group of committed parishioners brings concerns from the wider community to the attention of the congregation. Previous and ongoing projects include addressing homelessness, immigration, youth education, and partnerships with local donation centers.

Young-ish Adult Group
Young adult parishioners gather periodically for community events throughout Mar Vista and Culver City. Recent activities have included karaoke, trivia nights, and concert outings. All who identify as "young adult" are welcome-- we don't card!
