Worship Ministries
There are a variety of ministries that support our Sunday and weekday services at St. Bede's. Each ministry plays a vital role in creating meaningful, reverent worship experiences for our congregation.

Hospitality & Welcome
Greeters and Ushers
Provide hospitality and assistance to all worshippers, with special attention to visitors and those with special needs. Set out name tags, distribute bulletins, collect offerings, guide communion, and create a welcoming first impression for visitors.
Worship Leadership
Lectors
Read scripture lessons from the Old and New Testament and lead the congregation in the Psalm during worship services.
Acolytes
Assist clergy by carrying torches, cross, and Gospel Book, helping ready the communion table, and serving as living symbols of faith representing the congregation. Serve approximately every 3-4 weeks.
Sacramental Ministry
Eucharistic Ministers
Authorized lay persons who administer the consecrated elements at Holy Eucharist. Serve at Sunday services, weekday services, and special occasions about once per month.
Eucharistic Visitors
Take the Consecrated Elements to congregation members who cannot attend worship due to illness or infirmity. Serve as needed.
Behind-the-Scenes Support
Sacristans (Altar) Guild
Preparing the altar and worship space for each service is this important behind-the-scenes ministry. It includes making sure everything is ready for the celebration of the Eucharist and other liturgies. Although much of this work happens quietly, it is an essential part of our shared worship and helps make each service possible.
How to Get Involved
Each ministry offers a unique way to serve God and support our worship community. To learn more or volunteer, please contact the church office or speak with clergy.
