Kids at St. Bede's
Wiggles Welcome
If you've ever hesitated to bring your kids to church because you're worried they'll be "too much," we're here to tell you: bring them anyway. All of them. Even the loud ones. (Especially the loud ones.)
At St. Bede's, children aren't just tolerated during worship, they're part of it. We believe the sounds of little ones, the whispered questions, the occasional dropped cheerio, are signs of a living, breathing congregation. God blessed children with the ability to wiggle, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
What to Expect:
We don't have a separate kids' service or childcare, because we think kids belong in the room. Our services are fully integrated, which means your family worships together from start to finish. Here's what makes it a little easier:
-
Activity bags are available at the entrance, packed with quiet activities to help little ones stay engaged during the service
-
The Little Love Library has books and quiet activities in the sanctuary for younger children
-
During Communion, kids are welcome to come forward to the altar, stand on the pew to get a better look, or receive a blessing by crossing their arms over their chest in an X
A Note to Nervous Parents:
We see you. Wrangling kids in a quiet space can feel stressful, but our congregation genuinely loves having children present. No one is going to give you a look. If anything, you'll get a smile. Our ushers are always happy to help if you need anything during the service.
Come as You Are:
There's no dress code, no expectation that your kids need to be silent, and no pressure to have it all together. Just show up. We'll take it from there.
We can't wait to meet your family!
