The Sisters of Bede is the evening women's guild. They meet on the first Monday
of most months in Luther Hall. At the meetings we share prayer, fellowship,
feelings and food with an emphasis on spirituality. The meetings are loosely
structured and sometimes include a baby shower or a holiday celebration.
The Sisters contributed over $7,000 this past year through the sponsorship of
a series of venues, mainly dinners, hosted by parishioners. This was double
the amount raised last year. A gala breakfast between the two Easter services
and two other breakfasts helped members of the eight o'clock and ten o'clock
services become better acquainted.
This year the Sisters purchased tablecloths for the round tables. These cloths
are available for other groups to use if they sign them out and return them
clean. The average attendance is between 15 and 20. The Reverend Argola Haynes,
Assistant Rector, is the Chaplain and moderator for the Sisters. This year the
Chairperson is Phyllis Morrison and the Treasurer is Samira Tamer. The group
is open to all women of the parish. Visitors are most welcome.

Proceeds of this year's venues will be equally split between St. Bede's Second Century Fund and the Neighborhood Youth Association. |
